Sale Stopover

Dear one and all.

We have been at Sale now since last Saturday and the weather has been a bit depressing at best. It has been cold and wet. Thankfully we do have air conditioning and it does make it fairly cosy.

On Monday Ken had to start his prep for the colonoscopy and gastroscopy he was to have on Wednesday. It was quite a cold day and to get out of the house I suggested we go for a drive. The map we had been given when booking in showed a small round trip taking us through Longford and out to Golden beach where we would follow the coast line down to Sea spray and then back to Longford and back into Sale the same way we came out. I had been down the South Gippsland Highway a couple of times going to Phillip Island for woman's camps but I had never taken this little diversion. Well, was this trip a waste of time and fuel. There was no, yes NO sea or water views at all, nothing but scrub bushes and a few holiday homes locked up for the winter. The map shows the road running closely along the shore and knowing that Seaspray
was the commencement of the Ninety Mile Beach I thought wrongly that we would have some seaside views. Thus, I doubt that we will EVER travel that road again. Clearly, in the summer months it would be packed with campers and holiday makers and it would be totally different but in late autumn it was uninteresting and boring.

Luch time on Tuesday was when Ken had to take his first lot of Moviprep so we were bound to stay close to our ensuite. We had to be at the hospital by 8.45am on Wednesday and we were home at 12.30 midday. We had a quiet afternoon and watched a bit of TV and inbetwwen the adds I caught up with our washing.

The Park here is well looked after, though it is a bit muddy in places because of the rain. Bathrooms and laundry facilities are old but clean and our ensuite is tiled and very clean. It has been worth the extra cost for this occasion.

Whilst we have been here Ken's nephew, Craig, called in and spent a good 3 hours with us. It was good to catch up with him and catch up with what's happening with him at the moment. He has lost a large amount of weight and looks really good. He's on long service leave and has spent time staying with both Justin and Dallas catching up with them and other people he knows in Melbourne.

We are booked here till Saturday when we think we will go back once again to Justin's as there is mail we will need to pick up. We have to come back here for another appointment Friday week to hear what the Doctor has to say but it can't be anything urgent or we would have been told.

One thing I have done here is pick up the beginnings of a cold or flu of some kind. On Tuesday I felt as though my throat was a bit swollen, I felt like I couldn't swallow properly. Then on Wednesday morning when I woke my voice was quite scratchy and my throat still felt swollen when I swallow. Now, today I have had a couple of coughs and that has hurt, but not badly. I hope it gets no worse that this. I took the flu injecation this year under Doctors and my Mums direction even though I can't tell you when my last cold was. I just never seem to get them, Ken does but not me. I wonder if I can get a refund.

Love to all Ken and Lyn
