Bright

Dear Family and Friends We are now eight days into our ten day stop in Bright. For those who don't know where Bright is it is a beautiful town located at the base of Mount Hotham on the northern side. The days we have stayed here have been beautiful, lovely sunshine, truly beautiful autumn weather. BUT the nights and early mornings have been freezing, especially after beeing in FNQ. We have had quite heavy frosts most mornings and places where there is shade all day the ground remains wet from the frost and dew. The winter doona is back on the bed, the heater has been on during the night and I've bought some new flannel jammies to ward off the cold in the night. We have had a couple of very relaxing days just reading, watching TV and talking to others in the park. We aren't actually right in Bright, we are in a small place called Freeburgh which is about midway between Harrietville and Bright. This is one of our travel auction stays and we would never have come here otherwise. The park is quite a way off the road and not easily seen either. There are sign posts but they don't stand out. It is a lovely little spot and at the back of the camp runs the Ovens River (or at least we think it is the Ovens River). There has been a number of vans here and we are all here because we have got our stay from the Travel Auction site. One couple got theirs just three days before and they loaded up the van and came straight away. Some of the others like us got theirs about 10 months ago. So it pays off for the park, even though we all paid just over half the normal cost per night. Whilst here we have been to Mt Beauty (which is a delightful little place), Harrietville (which is the prettiest place of all) , Beachworth, Myrtleford and Porepunkah, plus Wangaratta. Tomorrow we'll have a look around the Bright shopping area and today John is flying over to see us. Ken has just talked to John so we are looking forward to seeing him. Bairnsdale is just 220 klms away from here so to be back in town to see family will be really great. That's all for now so next time I blog will be from Bairnsdale. Love to one and all and God bless. Ken and Lyn
